WHAT IS HUNA?

Ho'omana — Ho'o (to make) + Mana (life force) = empowerment.

Huna is the modern label for what was originally called Ho'omana. The word means 'secret' in the sense of 'esoteric' or 'protected like a treasure' — not in the sense it had when you were a kid.

Huna is neither Neuro-Linguistic Programming nor is it Hypnosis.

Huna comes from ancient times — one of the original arts and sciences of healing and spiritual development. We believe it may be as old as 35,000 years and is a part of the original teachings of the peoples of the earth which were centered here in Hawaii. Huna was originally called Ho'omana: Ho'o means to make, Mana means life force — equivalent to Ki, Chi, or Shakti. Taken together, Ho'omana means empowerment.
